PINK Paragraph mark?

Ok, I have worked with Word and Wordperfect both for 15 years now--using
advanced features and troubleshooting numerous bugs. I have pretty much done
it all and yet I am having a moment of UN-clarity. Today, on one of my
documents (that I am editing from an outside source), there appears a baby
pink paragraph mark. I cannot find any info on this pink paragraph mark. Is
this something totally obvious that I am missing? TGIF.

It doesn't have any special meaning. It just means that a font color was
applied to the paragraph mark -- it's possible to assign font formatting to
a paragraph mark that's different from anything in the visible text. Most
likely the paragraph mark arrived that way as part of a paste operation.

If it bothers you, select the paragraph mark, go to Format > Font, and
choose the Automatic color.

Sometimes colored paragraph marks are used to indicate the presence of
Hidden text (a Hidden paragraph mark in the middle of the paragraph, for
example).
