print a booklet

Wendy

I have created an A4 document which I would like to fold and turn into a A5
booklet, printed double sided. I have set the page to landscape, mirror
margins, gutter14.85cm. It looks perfect but I cannot get it to print in the
right order, I am using a HP2600n printer (manual duplex) Can anyone help?

The easiest way is to sidestep the Word/printer interface entirely.
Make a pdf of your document, open it in Reader, and print it using the
"booklet" setting. If your HP works like my two HPs, you print the odd
pages, then reinsert the stack of pages without turning or rotating
it, and print the even pages in reverse order.

The Word way to do it is to choose Bookfold from the Page Setup
dialogue, but then you'll probably want to adjust the margins and type
size to look right in the smaller format.

Oops, not the "odd" and "even" choice in the upper dropdown, but
"front side" and "back side" in the lower dropdown that appears when
you choos Booklet printing.
