Printing a 11 x 17 booklet on 8.5 x 11 paper

I'm using Publisher 2003. I have a standard newletter that prints on 11x17
paper. I'd like to be able to print drafts on a standard desktop with 8.5 x
11 paper, but I get parts of two pages on one sheet with a large margin. How
can I print a draft on standard paper?

Change the page setup from booklet to letter long enough to print your draft.
You will have to setup your printer too if you have it setup for tabloid.

Thanks for responding, but I need more help. I've tried every choice under
page setup, there is no "letter" choice, but I've tried poster and tried
making a custom 8.5 x 11, but they all seem to think I'm printing on a
portion of a 11x17 piece of paper, rather than actually printing on the size
of paper I'm putting in. My desktop here only prints 8.5 x 11, I go to
another location to print on the larger paper. Any other ideas?

Are you trying to scale the booklet to fit onto letter-sized (8.5x11")
paper, or print each individual page at full-size?

If the former, print to an 11x17 PDF file, and then get Adobe Reader to
scale the publication to fit letter-size paper on printing.

If the latter, save your publication, thengo to File > Page Setup >
Printer and Paper, and set the paper size to Letter/8.5x11; then head
back to the Layout tab and set the layout to Full Page. Hit OK. Then
print, and revert back to the saved version with the page and printer
set up as they were before.

If the poster's printer cannot print on 11x17 paper, then his only recourse is
tiling, which is what is happening. What they need to do is download the driver
for the printer that will ultimately be printing their newsletter. Or setup the
publication as a four page letter size document.

In addition to what the others have said, check in the advanced options for
your printer (click File, Print, Properties on the print window) and look
for some option to scale or shrink to fit. I have an HP LJ 2200 b & w laser
where the "Zoom Smart" is on the Effects tab, an Epson 1280 color inkjet
which has the Reduce/Enlarge on the Layout tab, a Okidata color laser
printer where the Scale is on the Job options tab. Not all printers have
this feature in their printer driver but it is definitely worth looking for.
Use it on may jobs to "prepress" a large print job.

Yes there is a LETTER choice and many others.
LAYOUT only says FULL Page and other layouts but the paper size is on
the PRINER and PAPER tab.
