Project monthly costs

I need to export monthly project costs and user-defined values (e.g. Text1,
etc.) into Excel. I can print this data in a crosstabs report but can't
figure out how to get other fields to appear in the report or how to export
selected fields along with monthly costs. There don't appear to be any field
names for monthly costs.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Brian,
You will need a two step process. The timescaled data of monthly cost,
(as seen in either of the Usage views and some of the built-in Reports),
can be exported to Excel using the "Analyze timescaled data in Excel"
utility/add-in found on the "Analysis" toolbar. You will get different
cuts of the data depending on the active view at the time of export.

For the static data (i.e. user defined values), you will need to use an
export table. User defined fields are not timescaled. To set up an
export table, go to File/Save As and select Microsoft Excel Workbook
from the "Save as type" selection box at the bottom of the Save As
window. When you hit the "Save" button it will bring up the Export
Wizard/Window.

Once all the data is in Excel you can manipulate it to make any kind of
report you want.

The above process can be completed in one operation if an advanced
feature of Project is used. A VBA macro can export whatever data you
want and format it in any way you need.

Hope this helps.
