Properties Using Outlook 2003

Here's what I want to know how to update...

When I get an e-mail from someone...I can double click their name or
right-click on it and select "Outlook Properties" from the mini-list and see
more specific information about them. Address, phone numbers, extension,
etc...

I'm lookin' to find out how I can update that information for myself. Is it
done client side or do I need one of my IT gurus to hook me up? Any
information would be appreciated! Thank you for time!

The smart tag reads information from your address books. You can update the
contacts but the admin needs to do the GAL.

GAL?

So, in order to get my information updated in there, I need to have IT do
it...But, do you know where they would update that informaion? I would hope
they know, but in case they ask for a quick resolution, would be awesome to
know.

Thank you so much for a speedy response BTW, I really apprecite it!

GAL = Global address list used by exchange server. Pretty much any time the
address list is server based, the admin needs to update it (or give someone
special permissions) - it's not usually updatable by end users.
