Good day: On my work computer, I created a personal folder to save some
e-mail using Microsoft Outlook 2003. Outlook 2003 prompted me to save the
file as an Office data file or a pst file under Outlook 2002, 2000 and 97. I
saved the personal folder as an Office data file.
On my work computer, I executed scanpst.exe on the outlook data file.
Scanpst.exe prompted me to create a backup called outlook.bak and I agreed to
do so. I ran scanpst.exe on the original office data file. It generated a log
of errors and saved the log as a text file.
My home computer uses Microsoft Outlook 2002. I tried view the e-mail
contents of the original office data file. When I added the personal folder
within Outlook properties, the message appears, "The file you choose is not
an Outlook data file. You must select a new file of this type."
I tried to view the e-mail contents of outlook.bak and the same message
appeared on my home computer.
I returned to work and tried to view the e-mail contents using Outlook 2003.
The same message appears.
Does anyone have another approach to my situation?
Thanks, Mark
