Question: Adding non-task related cost for tracking total project cost

J

Jenny

Hi

What is the best way to add non-task related expenses such as (transportation, meals...etc.) to your project so that you can keep track of the real total cost of the project

Thanks

But they are related to tasks, either single tasks or groups of tasks
via their summaries. For example travel is done so someone get get to
the site where they need to do the work. Thus travel to the site of the
work is part of the cost of doing the work - if we didn't have to do the
work at some location we wouldn't have the cost of travel there.
Depending on the item, you can either enter them as material resources
associated with the tasks that consume them or sum them and insert the
total in the fixed cost field of the tasks or summaries associated with
them.
