Re-scheduling "late" work

J

JimC

I need clarification on the use of Options/Calculation
checkboxes as they relate to rescheduling "late" tasks.

Example: I have a task defined by 40 hours of work, to be
completed over 5 days between 9/20-9/24. current date
and status dates are 9/27. I have enabled the
Options/Calculation tab check box "Move start of remaining
parts before status date forward to status date".

After I record 20 hours actual work to the task,
the remaining 20 hours of work are still scheduled to be
completed by 9/24...I was anticipating the remaining work
would have been re-scheduled to begin on 9/27.

What am I missing?

Hi Jim,

I think you will have to Tools, Tracking, Update Project, Reschedul
incomplete work...
I'm not sy-ure as the option wasn't there in the versions I use but that
definitely does what you want.
There is a button for it on the Tracking toolbar as well.

You then need to go to Tools/Tracking/Update project.../Reschedule
uncompleted work to start after:

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))
