receive e-mail ok can not send tab greyed out why?(outlook 03)

I can not create a new mail message the icon is geryed out as is the reply
to, reply all and forward. The add or remove button - standard icons will
not even light up. I'm running Norton IS 05 and i've checked the settings,
which is automatic which permitts everything.

Do you have an e-mail account defined within Outlook? Does it have an
outbound mail server defined?

Yes I do, mail.btopenworld.com, it is the same for both inbound and out
bound, both are correctly spelt no extra spaces or anything else. It worked
fine on my old mesh PC now I have a new mesh PC, an amd athlon 64. When I
first got the PC it worked well, but mesh sent it to me with a corrupt OS,
they fixed it sent it back now I can not send e-mails. I do have the ability
to set my PC back to factory settings but only as a last resort.

Just check under view, toolbar - standard toolbar is checked.
