Recovery...

I purchased a new hard drive; reinstalled Office on the
new drive.

All my contents still exist on my old drive (drive
letter "D").

How can I get my new Outlook Express on "C" to retrieve
my messages from the "D" drive?

I cannot find a "*.dbx" file on the "D" drive.

However, please note, I did not make an official backup
of my outlook folders prior to new installation. Do I
have to make a backup for a ".dbx" file to exist?

Are you using Outlook Express or Outlook? They're two separate programs
with two separate types of data stores. Outlook Express does not come with
Office, it comes with Internet Explorer.

Jocelyn,

Thanks for pointint that out; forgive my ignorance.

Yes, you're correct, I'm using Outlook Express. What is
the data store for Express?

Please advice.

They are files with .DBX extensions. http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com can
help you with recovery of Outlook Express data stores. You can also find
links on that site to the proper newsgroups for Outlook Express questions
(they'll be able to help you better in those groups than we Outlook folks
can). Good luck.
