Reset numbering for text where style is applied

S

Solomon Antony

I need to create a word document which involves dialogue
between characters. I am required to number the dialogues
by the character for every page.

ex) scene 1
char01_01:hello char02
char02_01:hello char01
char01_02:what r u doing this weekend?
char02_02:i'm going fishing. want to join in?
char01_03:yup.
............
scene 2
char01_01:it's quite sunny today.
............

I used styles to generate the numbers automatically.
The problem is numbers do not get reset when I move on to
a new scene. Reset numbering options do not seem to work.
Is there a way out?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Solomon Antony

Hi Solomon,

You'll be more likely to get a timely and knowledgeable
answer in an end-users, rather than developer newsgroup. Try
word.numbering

And PLEASE mention which version of Word you're using.

You may also want to read up on the topic on the
mvps.org/word newsgroup.
