Resource Allocation % problems

Greg

Hello all,

In some cases, in microsoft Project 2007, the resource allocation % is
not being correctly calculated.

This problem is created when a task that has both a predecessor and a
successor is changed by way of a resource submitting task updates in
PWA. The update must include hours for days that lie outside the
scheduled start and finish dates for the task. The task must be of
the Fixed Work type.

In some cases, the % allocation will jump up to 1200%. While the
units displayed in the resource column are incorrect, the planned work
(calculated based on the remaining hours and the fixed % allocation
(units)) is correct.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi,

This is a typical problem when you report timescaled work (not limited to
Server)
Say the working time is 8-12 and 13-17 and you are reporting on a task that
is scheduled to end 8.30
Now you tell Project that the actual work for that day is 6 hours.
6hrs of work during 30 mins ofd duration gives 1200%.

Don't look at % for tasks with timescaled actuals update!
