Resource Allocation

Bill

Hi All,

I am importing an access mdb file that has a resource allocation percentage
against the resource. The task is fixed duration and the resource will be
spending say 25% of time on it. I need this so that the resource graph's are
realistic.

Problem is that I can't spot which field to map percent resource allocation
to. Can anyone help please?

Hi Bill,

I'm not sure I follow exactly. I assume when you say "resource
allocation against a resource" you are referring to the resource's
maximum units. You can map that into the Max Units field that appears
in the Import Wizard.

Percent allocation is the assignment unit of a resource to a specific
task whereas the Max. Unit defines that maximum assignment units that
the resource may have at any given minute in the project without being
flagged as overallocated by Project.

Hi Bill,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The % assigned is held in the field called Assignment Units - you'll need to
include that in your mapping.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
