Resource Pool links - Company's server change caused problems

Help! We have a resource pool linked to 40+ plans and our company had to
migrate the server that the linked .mpp's are on. Now when I go into the
master resource pool and view the "share resources" window, I can see the old
path to the server. Is there a way to access this file to be able to
change the path to the new server? We have been unable to go into each
plan, break the link, and re-link and are also hesitant to "unlink" the files
from the master pool until we know they can be re-linked.

Hi,

I would take a backup of all plans. The issue isn't whether or not you can
re-link but preventing complete file corruption. Links used in Resource
pools and consolidated files use DDE technology which hate being moved,
over-written or renamed. Any of these can lead to file corruption sooner or
later.

For safety open each file and save as xml then open the xml and save as .mpp
again to create clean files. Then create a new Resource pool. This is the
only safe thing to do.

Thanks for your help. This may seem like a remedial question at this
point, but how would I go about creating a new resource pool? Can I
import any portions of the existing resource pool? If I create a new
one, do I need to open each of the 56 plans connected to it and break
the link?

There are 2 of us who have spent the better part of 2 days "correcting"
the links and really don't want to have to do all of that again.
