Resource Pool Size & Clean Up

Good day,

I maintain a resource pool that has grown to 14.5 MB. The resource pool is
on a shared drive and its performance is now quite slow. As a result, I want
to clean up the resource pool to reduce its size and improve its performance.
After removing the unecessary sharer files, the resource pool still remains
the same size. How should I effeciently clean up the resource pool? Note
that creating a brand new file is not an option as we store vacation time in
the pool. Thanks for your suggestions!
