restoring backed up emails???

Can someone please tell me the proper way to restore files to Outlook 2000
(SP 3)?

I am running XP Pro. Outlook previously resided in 98 SE.

I backed up all my files (e-mails only) and folders to cd before taking down
my old computer and when I sent the stuff from cd to Oulook, one folder at a
time, everything went into the inbox. The old drives are no longer available.

TIA.

I'm not sure what you mean by "folder by folder" - Outlook only uses ONE
file with the extension pst. Can you be a bit more explicit on what you did?

thanks for the reply Gordon. What I meant was that I coipied each folder that
I had set-up to CD one at a time. I opened the CD, right clicked each folder
and sent it to either OL or My Docs. and then copy/pasted to OL one folder at
a time. Everything went into the inbox. I am not at the computer at this time.
