rounded corners

Hi All,

I need to create a few boxes of different sizes with rounded corners.
However the rounded corners must all have the same size radius.

With autoshapes, the radius of the corners changes with the size of the box.

Also, I would like the top part of the box to be filled with a color.
I'm guessing I need to create another box on top, with only the top 2
corners rounded.

eg.

/-----\
|color|
-------
| |
\-----/

What's the best way to do this?

You need to get yourself a draw program.

There are ways of doing what you are asking in Publisher, but it is time
intensive.
The radius of the autoshape corners can be changed with the small yellow
diamond.

Copy your shape, paste special as a .wmf, ungroup, delete the transparent
background, select the shape, right-click, click edit points, hold control,
delete all the points on the bottom of the shape.

Mary's way is probably the best, but not knowing what version of Pub
you're using here's a down and dirty way I would try...

1) create your rounded box, then duplicate it (select, copy, paste).
2) Select your first rounded box fill with desired color, create a
text box over the part you don't want to have color - including
covering the outline of the rounded box. Group them together.
3) Select the other rounded box that was duplicated in step one. Move
it over what you created in step two... line them up and group
everything together. Insert text....

I would play with that and have it done in a few minutes.... rough but
it would work :)
