RSS Feeds Folder

Nick

Greetings,

I know this might be a repost, but is there anyway to remove or disable the
RSS Feeds folder from the Tree structure in Outlook 2007? I have read posts
that state that you can delete the folder in OWA or in an earlier version of
Outlook however, I would rather see a MS certifed resolution. If not a
solution, a workaround, or can this be added to the enhancements of Outlook
2007?

I only state this because there is a Group Policy to disable RSS Feeds in IE
7 and creating this will align both applications to follow the same set
policy.

Thanks for answers.

There's also a GPO setting in the Outlk12.adm file to turn off the RSS feature completely. It sets this registry value.

KEYNAME Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\RSS
VALUENAME Disable
VALUEON NUMERIC 1
VALUEOFF NUMERIC 0

Sue,

Thank you for responding. Yes, the GPO shuts off the RSS Feeds, but I was
more interested in removing the RSS Feeds folder from the tree structure in
Outlook. This folder will still allow a user to add a new feed regardless of
the GPO. Also, keeping the folder in the tree, adds cluter to outlook.

I tried the key you mentioned under HKCU and HKLM and no luck with removing
the folder. IE 7, the GPO removes the RSS Feeds under the Favorites Center,
so I would assume something similar can be done to remove the RSS Feeds
folder.

Is there perhaps a setting on the exchange server we can set to remove this
folder?
