Hi there. New here. Did some searching for my question and i think I
found the answer but it does not display properly on my project.

I want to create a project for the entire month of October. I create
the project with 31 days starting Oct 1. Originally the project was not
counting the weekends and as we work both Sat and Sun, I need project to
reflect this.

My search here found that I can change the work hours for Sat and Sun
so they get included in the work hours. I copied the defualt settings
from Mon to Fri (8am-12pm, 1pm to 5pm) for an 8 hour work day.

When finished though, project says the project begins Oct 1 and ends
Nov 2. I need to show it to end Oct 31.

The 2nd part i would like to find out is how to chage the default work
times? Right now, both Sat and Sun have no work times.

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for the help.

Stan.

In th efuture, please specify your version of Project. Here are two items
for checking.

In Project 2003, select tools, change working time. Select the all the
Sat/Sun in the month of October. Select "Non-Default Working Time" and plug
in the desired times. Frankly, Project does not care about 8-5 with an hour
for lunch. 3AM to 11AM with no breakfast works just the same. 8 hours is 8
hours. Unless there is shift work....

It is probably schedule logic driving you to November 2nd. Get your
calendar correct first and then see what happens. You may need to run
something in parallel or shorten a duration.

Under Tools/Options, pull the Calendar tab. Change 40 hours/week to 56.
Days per month is 31.

In Project 2007, Tools/Change Working Time... You will need to enter an
Exception for each weekend at the bottom of the screen. I called it
"Authored Extended Work Week" set the dates 10/4-10/5. Repeat for each
weekend.

Select each special day by double clicking it. Alternatively, select
adjacent days by holding the shift key while selecting and then select
"Details..." Select the working time radio button and then key the working
times. The actual times don't matter as long as you hit 8 hours.
