Setting paper size to print smaller size paper

I am trying to print on pre-sized blank card stock. It measures 5 1/2" wide
and 8" long. It is pre-creased so to make a note card when folded.

I tried using tent card format. The size shows on the screen and I can add
my designs, however, the print doesn't come out correctly. The print view
indicates two per page. It prints out okay on one portion of a letter size
paper, but that's not what I am working with. It seems to be looking for
letter size paper, but can't figure out where to change the paper size on the
print portion.

Also not sure if I should be using portrait or landscape. What I see on the
screen is a print area which is 5 1/2" wide, & 8" long.

Hope this is clear - but will be glad to answer any questions.

Thanks,
Elizabeth

You need to setup a custom size in the print setup. Most printers have custom
options. Once the print option is setup, Publisher will reflect this in page
setup.

Mary:

Thank you for your input. My printer doesn't allow me to add a custom paper
size, although I have another printer that does work out.

I also tried using the 5 x 8 paper size. In Publisher, started with the 5
1/2 wide size and put boxes inside that to bring the size to 5 x 8 and
adjusted my placement of the design to get it to work out. Of course it will
work differently on different printers. It is going to be trial and error.

Thanks again for your help.

Elizabeth, I've had many printers in my computer history, I can't remember any
that wouldn't allow custom sizes. Maybe an Applewriter?

I do hope you get it all worked out okay.

You might think about converting your publication to a PDF and then printing.

Often the built-in Windows drivers have "advanced" features such as
custom paper sizes unavailable.

I've put in a custom size on the printer, though it's not being reflected in
Publisher. What am I doing wrong?

When you set the printer for custom size, you will need to set your page for the
same size as well.
