Shared Task View??

R

Ralph

We use Outlook 2003 on MS exchange 5.5.

When I create a task view using the field chooser (no custom columns)
then share it to several users, I want them to have the same view as I
have. When they open my taks list they just see the standard view and
not the view I created.

Is there a way to make all shared users see the view I created? I
have about 20 to set up and share and would prefer NOT visiting every
user.

Thanks,

Create a new named view (View | Arrange By | Current View |Define Views) and set its scope to "On this folder visible to everyone." On the Properties dialog for the folder, on the Administration tab, select your view as the initial view on the folder.

Excellent...

Problem solved!

But there is always a "but"

The other folks can not get that view but if they change or edit a
task they get a message back that they don't have permission to send
the task. I have given them full permissions (temporarily) for the
task folder.

Any thoughts? Maybe there is a better way to manage shared tasks
that I have not thought of?

Thanks

So far so good,

I have a test system connected but I have one problem.

I have User1's task list shared with a custom form and view.. working
great

User2 opens this task list. When I send a task to user2 and they
reply or send it to someone else they will then have a problem.

When they go to type the name of user2 (their name) in the CC. or To:
line in an email, it inserts user1's email address. Is there a way to
prevent this?

Thanks

Thanks for reporting on the problems you solved on the way to a
successful resolution. It's great for those who come after you with
the same problem. Everyone should do as you have done.
