I just bought office 2003, from using 2000. Outlook is very busy looking
with so many itmes looking similar. Any way to set it to a "classic view"
Or simplify it ?

I'm ready to uninstall it and go back to outlook 2000.
btw... you should sell outlook by itself.

Outlook is sold standalone, but the experience is much better if you upgrade
the entire suite.

You really should give yourself at least two weeks to get used to it - it's
well worth it.
Try Ctrl+6 to switch to the classic folder list - other tips are at

Do you mean with the Reading Pane below?
That's easily controlled via View | Reading Pane ....
