SMS Messages?

I was about to sign up for this...but is this considered text messaging?
Would I get charged by my phone carrier (Verizon) for sending or recieveing
e-mail through this service?

Generally speaking, yes, you would be charged for receiving a text message by
Verizon. It depends on your plan, I suppose.
