Some graphic do not show up while viewing

While I'm working on my newsletter some of my graphics do not show up. The
picture box is there but it only shows up when I go to print preview. This
makes it hard to edit not being able to see the graphic. Any suggestions?

I've did this but it is still treating it as a "text only" file.

I only lost my graphics after I saved my Publisher file to a PDF file. (I
did have them prior to this) I'm not sure if it's only when I save as a PDF
that I lose my graphics in Publisher because I've been having problems with
no graphics when opening. You see, I prefer to work in Publisher but when my
files get so big when I do a newsletter or Souvenir Program I like to send
it as a PDF to others. Maybe this has always been the problem with my
graphics I just saved it as a PDF after I was done working on it and never
noticed that the PDF was the culprit. Can you help me revise the Publisher
file. Like I said before I can see the graphics if I go to print preview. I
know they are there, I just can't see them to work on the file. This is such
a problem. Can you help me?

Video driver? Go to the manufacturer's web site and look around for an updated
driver.
Meanwhile, turn the acceleration down on your adapter, right-click the desktop,
properties, settings tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab.
PDF shouldn't have anything to do with the functions of Publisher.
You can test this by opening your file in safe mode, if you see the pictures then you
know a video driver is needed.

First of all, thanks for the quick and informative replies. The hardware
acceleration was the culprit. I had to disable all Direct3D and DirectDraw
accelerations, I don't like doing that but that's what has to be done. Do
you think I have corrupt DirectX drivers? This is the only program that
seems to be a problem child.

Thanks again

Try this:
Put the slider all the back to full acceleration and open pub and go to:
tool/options/security/macro security/trusted publishers and put a check
mark in Trust all installed add-ins and templates.
Close Pub and re-open.

Thanks Frank;
Got there from Tools>Macro>Security>..(MSPub 2002).......found the
dialog box for trusted publishers and it was already checked but there were
no installed add-ins/templates listed. Any clues on that?

Frank has found that this solution worked for him when he experienced the
same problem.

However, it seems that it doesn't work for all users.

Try unchecking, ok, close and restart Pub, rechecking, ok, close and
restart Pub.
That is actually how it worked for me.

Okay I unchecked, closed, opened, rechecked again but unfortunately that
didn't work for me.

After going back to full acceleration then making sure the box was checked
for trusted pub. and re-opening a publisher to see how the graphics looked I
found that if I restored down the window in Publisher and moved the window
up I got my graphics back. How strange is that? But what a pain to have to
deal with this every time I go to a different page, save or click on a
graphic. So now what? This is pretty frustrating but it really is nice
having this support path to follow. Thank you to everyone who helps with
this.

This is a very common symptom of a problem being caused by video driver
issues.

I have some internal folks at Microsoft looking into this for me. Hang on
in there :)

Are you using the ATI X800 graphics card? Or possibly the Radeon 9600 Pro
graphics card?

ATI 9600Pro as a matter of fact.

Yeah I'm running WMC 5 with an ATI 9600XT 256meg. The fix works for me.
Sorry it doesn't work for you.

Not to change the subject, ok I am.......
How do you like WMC 05? I'm in
the process of putting together my latest and greatest
and purchased a copy of WMC 05.
