Sorting the resouce drop-down list in the Task Entry form

I have a fairly extensive resource sheet that I'm using to identify
contractors in a large custom home building project. When I click to add a
resource in the "Resources & Predecessors" form (the bottom of the "Task
Entry" form) the drop-down list appears to be sorted by ID. I have sorted
the Resource Sheet "by Name" so that all entries are displayed
alphabetically. I would like the drop-down list in the "Resources &
Predecessors" form to be sorted alphabetically, too. Sorting the Resource
Sheet doesn't appear to have any effect on the sorting of the drop-down
list. Is there any way to sort the drop-down list?

Hello Bill,
If your resources are *not* already assigned to tasks, you can sort them in
Excel for example, then copy them back to Project.
If you sort the resources in Project, they keep their Unique ID which manage
the display in the drop-down list in the "Resources &
Predecessors" form.

Bill,

When you sort the resources on the Resource Sheet view, you need to
tell Project to renumber the resources. This should change the order
in the drop-down list. Select Project>Sort>"Sort by..." and select the
check box for "Permanently renumber resources".

used it several month before... ;-(
