Summary Task Reports

If I assign resources (work, material, and cost) to different tasks and then
want to run a cost report at the summary task level, will I be able to
seperate out the different type of resources to see each cost individually?
For example, the total material costs for the summary task or the total work
costs for the same summary task.

Hello Rachel,

I'm not sure of what you want, but haven't you tried in the Resource Usage
view, the Group by "Work vs. Material Resources" ?

Gerad,

Thanks for getting back to me. If I have a task that is assigned both a
work and material resource (i.e. a human resource and office supplies) when
the info rolls up to the summar task level, am I able to run a report that
will separate out the cost for material resources and work resources? i.e.
Can I run a report that will show the total cost of human resources with a
line showing the total cost of office supplies?

If I have understood correctly, you can achieve what you want by the
following:

Navigate to the resource usage view. Then from Project, Group by, group
by Type (in the field name field). This will give you a breakdown of
costs by material and work resources (and by each individual resource
type identified in each of the groups). Make sure the appropriate cost
column is inserted.
