THE MODEM DOES NOT SUPPORT MESSAGES IN PDU FORMAT

I installed the SMS add-in for outlook 2003. Even so i have an AOPEN 56k
modem installed, i get the above error message. Does somebody know how to
overcome this problem? What kind of modem?
