To field and BCC

Can anybody explain why my email address appears in the To field when I send
a message with no address in the To field and only address in the BCC field.

Don't know why it's being put there automatically (perhaps your mail server
does this?) but I do know it's wise to put *something* in the To field -
you'll get trapped in fewer spam filters that way, for one thing.

I think that's handled by the receiving email client software.
