Visio 2000 - IP not installed - shapeshifting

1. Working with Visio 2ksp1 on Win2k, the Visio network discovery tool is
proclaiming that IP is not installed and refuses to initiate the discovery
tool. IP has been installed on this system since the day I bought it. Does
anyone have a resolution for this problem? This has worked at least once,
but reboots et al don't seem to resolve the problem.

2. What is the procedure for changing the underlying shape for an object?
For example, a Ricoh 700 printer was discovered as a workstation. Using the
database viewer to redefine the object as a printer doesn't update the shape
icon. Any suggestions here would be appreciated. Had the same problem
trying to change "generic terminal" to "generic file server".
