Weighting of Tasks in relation to activity roll-up

What factors in a task affect the weighting of the task when it is rolled up into an activity. I was previously tracking hours in the tasks and had to simplify by moving the hours (combined) to a seperate task. This changed the % complete of the activity when the tasks are rolled up. Is the duration of the task taken into account when the % complete of the task is changed and rolled up into an activity % complete?

Hi Ben,

You're quite correct. The % Complete is directly attributable to the duration of each of the subtasks. Moreover, remember that % Complete is relevant ONLY to the DURATION of the project. If you are using resources, then you'll need to insert the column called % WORK COMPLETE. Remember also that, if you amend the duration of a task, the % Complete may also change. Similarly, if you amend the hours on a task, the % Work Complete will change accordingly.
