Retaining cursor position with refocus

When clicking back in word just to regain it's focus, the cursor should
remain where it was. It happens alot that word loses it's focus, or the
focus goes from the text area to somewhere else. When I want to resume
editing at the point the cursor was, I have to click exactly where I did
before in order to continue editing.

Many other programs with thave this "regain focus click" as nothing more
than a click to regain the focus, not to move the cursor as well as regain
the focus.

I don't really follow your problem, however pressing SHIFT+F5 will take you
to the last point in the document that you edited.

Typically the first 'click' will move the focus back to the
application. It takes a second 'click' to move the cursor or move the
focus within the application.

I don't encounter what you describe so I suspect the problem has to do
with your Windows settings such as using Tweak UI to modify the
behavior of activation focus to follow the mouse instead of clicking
to activate.
