When searching, what does "not a valid bookmark" mean?

I have transfered a database from a machine running office 2000 onto one
running office 2003.

The database is shared between 5 other machine, all with office 2000.

When a running a search on the tables it comes up with this message, and
have to click 'ok' on it to continue searching, eventually finds what you
want but very very annoying.

Any ideas?

It generally means that you have at least 1 corrupted record in that table,
or if you've used Lookup fields, in the lookup table. Try a compact and
repair (from the Tools ... Database Utilities menu)

Also, it is poor design and practice to allow users to work directly in the
tables. Corruption seems to be more common, and you have little or no
control.over what the user can do.
