The equation editor is available and it is possible to write equations, but
once finished with the application the matematical symbols are replaced by
wingdings and other random symbols. I have heard of other people having the
same problem but they dont know how to solve it either. How can the symbols
be displayed normally?

We're looking in to this, so Rob (as well as anyone else with
this problem!), please make another post to the newsgroup and
tell us what version of Word you're using. We need more
information that just "Word 2002" or "Word 2003". Open up Word,
and in the Help menu, click on "About Microsoft Office Word" or
"About Microsoft Word" and give us the version number from that
screen. For example, mine says "Word 2003 (11.6359.6360) SP1".

We also need to know the version of Windows. If you're using
Windows XP, let us know whether or not you've installed SP-2.
