why do resized picture print repeated on deskjets?

I am working on a Publisher 2003 document. I have pictures that were taken
with my digital camera that I want to place on the document. I go to
insert|Picture|From file... and select the picture. I then proceed to resize
the picture by clicking on it and draging one of the corner markers until it
is the size I want.

My problem comes when I try to print this out using my HP Deskjet 6122
[regardless of the quality chosen]. When it prints, the pictures are
repeated multiple times in the same space as I want the entire picrure to
occupy.

Why does it do this and how do I fix it?
