Why does my Word attachment convert to notepad when I email?

When emailing a Word attachment why does it attach it in notepad form? And
how can I get it back to the way I have always been able to send it?

Probably better to ask in a forum for your email tool.

But while we're at it: how are you establishing this "notepad form?" Are
you saying that it opens up in notepad on the recipient's side? Are you
positive he has Word installed?
