Why does outlook shutdown when i try deleting a junk spam email?

I have tried repeatedly to delete a email from my deleted folder and it
causes Outlook 2007 to restart every time. I have never opened the email so
I don't know the contents. I can delete every email but this one.

How are you trying to delete it? What happens if you right-click the
Deleted Items folder and choose "Empty Deleted Items"? Why are you trying
to delete messages from Deleted Items and not letting Outlook empty the
folder when it closes?
