windows + S shortcut is not working

G

Gordy

when in IE7 or any other program, if I press the "windows" button + S I
cannot get the select to work.
In OneNote - Getting Started - 4. Gather screen clippings, it says: Press
Window logo key + S while in any program or browser, 2. Select an area of
your screen. A separate OneNote window will open showing the Unfiled Notes
section where the screen clipping is inserted:
Nothing happens ..... ?????
Anyone know why?

Thanks
Gordon

Do you have any other utilities that may try to intercept the Windows +S key?
there is a search utility whose name (Calysto? Calyspso?) I cannot remember
which takes over that key combo.

It seems ok now, there was another app using that combo, but I changed it and
nothing changed, but today when I rebooted the pc, and read this thread, it
triggered my memory that I had changed a key combo, now it is working, so
maybe it just needed a reboor to affect the settings.
Thanks for all your help.

If you don't have the icon on the tray then Windows Key+S isn't going to
work. You need to turn the tray icon back on. Tools | Options | Other...

Along the same lines of this thread, Windows+Shift+N was not working for me.
Had to disable the icon through Tools, restart OneNote, re-enable the icon,
close OneNote, and then the shortcut opened it. =D
