Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

Updated to the latest version of Entourage 13.0.0 on my test Mac and tryed to open it for the first time and got this error
"Could not change to that identity
An unknown error has occurred in Entourage"

How can I launch or reset Entourage? There are not setting that I need to save so is there a file to trash or prefrence

If you move the folder Office 2008 Identities out of the folder
Documents>Microsoft User Data and then launch Entourage, it should create a
new identity for you. Is this what you're looking for?

I think. I tested. I took the Office 2008 Identities out of the folder Documents>Microsoft User Data. I then got and error that I did not have write access to the folder when it was trying to open entourage. Entourage is in a loop every time I open entourage I get the error and can not open entourage

Sounds like your permissions are all messed up. You'll need to do a Get Info
on the folder and change permissions. I'm not sure if running Repair
Permissions will fix this, but try that first.

Read this Apple KB 25751 for more on Repair Permissions.

Resetting home folder permissions (on MacFixIt)

My Microsoft User Data folder and all enclosing folders and files:

Owner: diane (shows locked if you need to change click on the lock, change
then lock)
Access: Read & Write
Group: diane
Access: Read only
Other: Read only

I repaired permissions and change the identity folder permissions. I also reinstalled Entourage and still get the error. I am running under a local admin account

You might need to check all the folders and subfolders in the Microsoft User
Data folder.

Did you work through the suggestions on the MacFixIt article?

I would try using the application batchmod to repair your user
permissions. www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/
This freeware uses chmod and will unlock all subfolders and change
permissions based on your selections. I have tried many times to use
"apply to enclosing folders" in the get info window and it just never
seems to work right. But yeah, batchmod works great.
