Creating Double Lines

AJ

I'd like to create a road without using the Road Shapes' Road stencil. I'd
like to have two thin lines make up my roads like so:
______________________

That's easy enough. But creating curves in the road where the lines are the
exact width apart all the way through is an exceptionally frustrating
process.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

AJ

You should be able to create a scaled line pattern to do this.
Open the Drawing Explorer, and add a new line pattern...

Hi,

For creating double lines instead of using the Road shape available, I have
followed the steps enumerated below for a similar kind of issue.

1. Launch Visio if not already running
2. Open a new or an existing drawing
3. Draw a line to the required length
4. Draw an arc to the required dimension starting from the vertex of the
straight line
5. Then select the line and the arc and from the Shape Menu > Operations >
Join (This joins the line and the arc as a single shape)
6. With the shape selected, Next from the Shape Menu > Operations > Offset
- This opens a Offset dialog box
- Enter the offset distance say 0.2" and Click on Ok
- This offsets the shape selected both at the top and at the bottom by the
distance entered. That is by 0.2" at the top and 0.2" at the bottom
- You can choose to delete one of the shapes so that you have the shape
running parallel.

Join, Offset, Trim and the others are cool options that help a lot and I
personally like to use a lot of them. Particularly the combine, union,
fragment, intersect and subtract are the ones that help a lot and are very
cool features.

Hope this helps you achieve what you want.

Thanks and regards,
