Arrows in Stencil losing their ends

I have a custom stencil which includes several varieties of arrows. All are
just lines with one or both line ends as arrow shapes; some have text, some
are unadorned. Most of these arrows work as expected. However, two of them
behave rather oddly.

When dragging the problematic arrows onto the page, I can see the line ends.
But as soon as I drop the arrow, the ends disappears, leaving me with a
simple line. I can add the line ends back on without any difficulty, but I'd
like it if they could be included in the stencil.

As far as I can see, there's no differences in the properties between the
arrows that work and the ones that don't. Only one of the malfunctioning
lines has text; both are pointing down, but one of the other arrows points
down and it works. I've tried rebuilding the arrows both from scratch and by
copying the working arrows; neither route solves the problem.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

just for the fun of it (using a copy of the drawing that fails).
file=>shapes=>show document stencil, select all the shapes and then delete
them, retry your drawing...
If you're making your own shapes the document stencil may have an old copy.

Well, I didn't see a copy of either of these shapes in the document stencil,
but there were plenty of others from an old, old version of the stencil. I
just deleted them all and now it seems to be working.

Thanks.
