I have an aggravation with opening Word documents from Windows
explorer.
When double-clicking a document, there is a 30-second (or more) delay
before Word fires up and retrieves the document. Similar delays happen
when right-clicking on a file before the menu (with the option to
access the file's properties, e.g.) comes up.
It's a Dell GX280, 512MB RAM, Windows 2000, Office Pro 2000. I log
onto a Novell network and authenticate onto a Windows Domain as well.
There are no local peripherals - printing is done over the network.
Any hints on bypassing this/these delays would of course be
appreciated.
