Per the instructions you received in the message, what did the server
administrator (at your host) say when you asked them about what appeared in
the log?

They said there was nothing wrong with their servers and
that it probably had something to do with my firewall
settings.
yesterday morning i had published several times
successfully, then i just starting getting the error,
without an apparent cause. i am at a loss. i have
checked for ms updates and nothing has worked yet.

What O/S are you using?
What firewall are you using?
What did you do in the way of upgrades, changes, etc., prior to the problem?

i'm using windows xp home edition.
norton personal firewall.
one week ago i installed sp2, but removed it today in
hopes that the problem would be resolved, but it did not.
i just contacted comcast (my host) again and now they are
admitting to a problem on their end and they are working
on it.
i appreciate your quick response, but hopefully they will
get their problem fixed soon and this will resolve
everything.
thank you again!!!!!!

I had the same problem starting 9/9/04! My Internet
provider is Comcast. I contacted them and they said it
had to be a problem on my computer and refused to help.
They said I must have updated something, but I haven't;
and I even did a system restore just in case. I've tried
rebooting everything.

I used to periodically get that same error message, but
if I kept trying, after a few minutes it would go
through, but today it just never did. I kept tried to
convince the guy at Comcast something was wrong on their
end until he hung up on me.

Despite the tech's protestations that Comcast was not at
fault, about 20 minutes after I talked to them, I am
suddenly able to update my website through FrontPage
again. (And this was after it being down about 24
hours.) I don't know what the issue is, but I am certain
it was a problem on their end. I didn't change ANYTHING
on my computer.
