_vti_bin/shtml.exe/_vti_rpc

I have FrontPage 2000 & WinXP
I was getting a error message while trying to upload to my Cox Personal
Webspace. The very first time it works ok. I think it was after the
second time to upload that the error occured. The error was:

404 Not Found
Not Found The requested URL /_vti_bin/shtml.exe/_vti_rpc was not found
on this server. Apache/1.3.26 Server at members.cox.net Port 80

Here's the fix after searching the enternet.

In FrontPage 2000 when you go to upload, the name in the 'Specify the
location to publish your web to:' box, needs a forward slash at the end
of that site name, if it doesn't add one. Then click the Publish button.

Did you publish the first time using FTP or http? If it was FTP either the
first time or later it could be that the FP Server Extensions have become
corrupted. In this case you'll probably have to contact Cox Communications
support for a fix as this message is being generated by the web server
itself.

Hope this helps,
