The Flying PM
Hey Gang,
I have inherited a MS-Project file that has had at least 4 owners, before
me. It's proving to be quite a challenge to change ANYTHING in this plan.
Before I started using this plan, I considered myself quite knowledgeable
about Project. Now, I'm doubting my basic computing skills. Ha ha. Very
frustrating.
Anyway, here's my question:
I created a brand new task for "Administration", like timesheets, status
reports, etc. I made it Fixed Duration. I then started adding my resources to
the task one at a time and setting everyone to 5%. As I did so, it slowly
increased the work - just like I wanted. So, everything with that is A-OK.
The problem is that during this process, at some point, it highlighted my
task in red. Anyone have any idea why a brand new task with no constraints,
no predecessors (other than the project kick-off milestone), no actual
values, etc. would be highlighted in red???
Thanks.
