Accepting Actual Hours Not Posted

my project plan has quite a few tasks – assigned to Bangalore resources –
where no actual have been entered into EPM. Because of this, the project
plan is showing as behind schedule . . .when it really isn’t the case.

I can easily 0 out the remaining hours for those tasks and change the
publish column to ‘No’ – but then those hours will never be reflected and
we’ll show as very under budget (not necessarily a good thing).

Is there some way for me to have the hours updated so that actual hours =
planned hours and then accept the actual hours into the plan (without
expecting the Bangalore resources to do this)?

You could....

1) Open the file in Microsoft Project
2) Confirm that in Tools > Options > Calculations you have the Updating Task
Status Updates Resource Status option toggled to "On."
2) Filter for or select the tasks in question.
3) Set the % Complete to 100%.

That will update the tasks as currently scheduled, which will show them all
on budget (or whatever the current calculation is).
