Access 2007 error: The search key was not found in any record

I am trying to import data from an Excel 2007 spreadsheet and receive the
error message "The search key was not found in any record." I have imported
numerous spreadsheets without errors. I performed compact / repair database,
but am still getting the error message. any ideas?

If you're importing into an existing table, try importing into a new table.
If that works, the fields in the spreadsheet don't match the fields in the
existing table and you need to fix the spreadsheet, or there's a lock on the
existing table you need to unlock.

If the spreadsheet doesn't import into a new table either, it could be db
file corruption, or the field names in the spreadsheet aren't formatted
correctly (like names with leading spaces) or mismatched workgroup file
versions.

Also make sure cells in the spreadsheet aren't locked, and data is formatted
according to the column data type (text in text columns, numbers in number
columns, dates in date columns), and there aren't any special characters in
the column names - only alphabet letters, numbers and the underscore.
