Access 97 and 2007 on the same machine

We installed access 97 and 2007 on the same TS 2008 however everytime I would
work with Access 97, then open 2007 I get a window pop up saying something
along the lines of “Please wait while we install Microsoft Office 2007
componentsâ€, and likewise for Office 97. Then after working with office 2007
and going back to 97, it changes the file associations

Can someone tell me if access/office 2007 and access 97 are not compatible
or how to work around this issues?

Hi Xavier

Go to the folder where Access 97 is installed. The default location is
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office

There you will find a file named MSACCESS.SRG. Copy that file and rename
the copy MSACCESS-Original.SRG (or something similar).

Now, open MSACCESS.SRG with Notepad and delete *all* the contents. Then
close and save the file.

Now Access 97 will not try to assert its superiority when it starts, and
will not cause any offence to Access 2007.
