Access - Jet engine workgroup

The following error message pops up whenever I try to
open an existing file or to create a new one:

Cannot open the Microsoft Jet engine workgroup
information file. (Error 3358)
You attempted to perform a security-related task, but the
workgroup information file (typically System.mdw)
required for the task cannot be found.

Any suggestions?

If you have implemented security, you may get this error if your MDW file is
in the same folder as your MDB, and has the same name. Both files need to
create an LDB, and if they have the same name in the same folder, they
can't.

If you have not implemented Access security, your system.mdw file may have
been deleted or damaged. Search the hard disk and find the file. Move it to
a backup location. Reinstall Access, so it creates a new system.mdw file.
Note that this approach won't work if you HAVE implemented security, as you
will not have permission to use your database.

This can also occur if the system.mdb file is present but damaged.
Rename any file(s) called system.mdw to something else, eg.
system.mdw1, system.mdw2, etc, then open Access and try again.
