Account deleted but still receiving email

I added an iMac to the family and want to receive email there, instead of on the MacBook. I deleted the account in Entourage on MacBook, and created the account on the iMac. I can send email from the iMac for this account, but the emails are still being received on the MacBook. They are both on the same home network and internet connection. Both Macs have Office 2008. iMac is OS X 10.4.11, MacBook is 10.5.5. I have two other email accounts on the iMac that work fine, one other account on the MacBook that works fine, just this one email account that is acting so weird. How can I receive mail where there isn't even an account?

If you're still receiving mail for the account you deleted then you
deleted the wrong account. Check under Tools --> Accounts... on the
MacBook and verify the account settings for each of the accounts you find.

Hope this helps!

Thanks but I did not delete the wrong account, there is only one account listed and it is not the one in question. That is why this is so perplexing.

If you don't have any accounts why are you even trying to download?

Can you post a screenshot of your Accounts window? I've never seen Entourage
download when there are no accounts.

You can post a screenshot link using a service like ImageShack. ImageShack
is an easy-to-use free media hosting service. It can be used to upload
images. Registration is not required in order to upload files.

How To Post Screen Shots To Newsgroups

1. On your keyboard, press Command-Shift-4.
2. On your keyboard, press the space bar.
3. Click the window you want. A picture file will appear on the desktop.
4. Go to http://imageshack.us/.
5. Click Browse, then navigate to and select the picture file.
6. Click "host it!".
7. Paste the "Show image to friends" URL in a newsgroup message.

Have you possibly forwarded mail from one account to another? This can
often be set as an option on your mail server.

Also, Entourage will use names from your Address Book when displaying
senders and recipients. You may be expecting mail from "Joseph Smith"
but if you have a contact record with the name "Joe Smith" then "Joe
Smith" will be shown.

Hope this helps!

Let me try to explain again. I was receiving mail from this account (lobec) on the macbook (husband's computer). Now I want to receive the mail from this account (lobec) on the iMac (wife's computer). Even though I deleted the account from husband's computer, emails are still being received there. I can send from the wife's computer, but replies go to husband's computer.

The most likely explanation seems to me to be that the "lobec" account is
set on your ISP (apparently Tampa Bay RoadRunner) to forward mail to your
husband's account. I suggest you check the account maintenance on
RoadRunner's web site to see if that might be true.

Thank you, I have checked that, and it is not forwarded, but it looks like I may have to forward it to one of my other mail accounts on iMac in order to get this to work since the cause seems to be a mystery.

Something has to be forwarding the emails. I would say Entourage might have
a rule to forward, but then if the account is deleted there is nothing for
Entourage to forward. Log into your account via your web browser and check
your settings again. Check both accounts.
