Actual hours for task vs. Duration

Can I have two columns: one that shows actual hours to accomplish a task and
one that shows the duration for the number of days to actually get the task
done. For example, a 2 hour task, but a resource has 5 days to get it done
in. When I choose the duration field and the actual work field, it doesn't
allow them to be different units.

Hi,

First, mind you, actual work means work done, performed, past history.
Planned work can be remaining work or work but not actual work.
Your problem is that Project's default wauy of sheduling the equation Work
equals duration times assignment units is to keep units fixed.
You can change that in Task Information, Advanced tab, task type.
Set thet f.i. to fixed duration, set duration, then work.
